Challenging project on the Chiarso river in Italy is completed.
SHPP Lavoreit is located in the north-eastern province of Udine in Italy. The new power plant uses thestream of the Chiarsò river flowing in the Dolomites on the Italian-Austrian border. Lavoreit is our 8th successfully built project in Italy during the past three years. The total value of this project is over 120 million crowns (4.5 million euros). The annual power generation is expected at 4 000 MWh.
Lavoreit represents the most demanding job ever performed by HYDROPOL, given the short construction time and specific technical demands.
"We are happy to have the opportunity to join Italy's effort to meet its potential in the area of renewable energy. Previously, we have built seven facilities in the provinces of Lombardy and Piedmont with an output of nearly 4 000 kilowatts. In addition, these activities of our company greatly helped to increase HYDROPOL's reputation as a reliable and efficient supplier in the global hydropower industry," says Jan Tošnar, the owner of HYDROPOL.
SHPP Lavoreit is of derivation type consisting of intake (weir - two flap gates, fishpass and sandtrap), penstock (DN 1.4 m, length 1.7 km, totally underground) and powerhouse. Lavoreit is equipped by 1 Francis turbine. This power plant has an output of approximately 675 kW with more than 45 meters of gradient.
