Beli Iskar

Project review

First stage of the Beli Iskar Dam rehabilitation represented one of the most important construction projects in Bulgaria in 2002. Dam height is 51 m and upstream face surface area covers approximately 25 000 m2. The dam was exposed to major seepage and structural problems.

The project included dam consolidation and grouting works, construction of new plinth, outlet replacement, new instrumentation and new upstream dam wall isolation with advanced geomembrane system.

Provided services

HYDROPOL was a turnkey contractor of this project. It delivered high quality works in compliance with expected schedule (June - November) while managing more than 150 people on the site in the elevation of 1 800 m above sea level.

All works were performed during very short (record) time.
