Project review

The Benatky HPP (Czech Republic) built in 1895 is probably one of the oldest hydroelectric plants in the region of Central Europe.

Its operation was stopped during the 1980s due to a lack of need for small sources of energy. The weir, one of the largest ones on this type of a river, was damaged during the heavy floods in 2000.

The project consisted of weir reconstruction and turnkey construction of a new hydropower plant at the site of the original one.

Provided services

HYDROPOL was responsible for the complete hydropower plant and weir studies, full design, tendering, contracting and legal framework, including dealing with insurance companies regarding the flood damage remedy.

Complex project and quality management were provided by HYDROPOL.
